8 Days 10 Hours!

After waiting for what seemed like months, (OK, it has been months...) we're only 8 day and 10 hours from our trip. We're starting to really get serious now... ;)

As a warm up, we spent the last few days away. We went to Park City on Friday and I had a planning meeting with my Board on Saturday. The whole family came up and stayed the weekend. We had a great time, in spite of the rain. It made for a little more relaxing around the hotel rather than always running. We stayed at the Silverado Lodge, which is part of the Grand Summit Hotel group at The Canyons Resort. (The old Park West Ski Resort)

The kids got to ride the lower gondola for free and spend some time in the heated outdoor pool, when it wasn't raining cats and dogs!

Sorry, all these pictures are going to be generic, stolen from the web pics as our camera died just before the trip. I did buy a new one, (we had to for the Portugal trip, but we forgot to take a data card with us, so the few pics I took I had to download to my laptop, which is at work.....) OK, enough excuses. Just accept the pics I put up, and like them!

Sunday, everyone headed home except Annette and I. (Tyler spent the next two days with BJ and Kristin) We headed for the Zermatt in Midway. It's a relatively new resort hotel across the road from the Homestead.

While the overall ambiance of the venue is really nice, the actual rooms don't even compare to how nice the Silverado is. But, hey, somebody else was paying, so it really didn't matter!

I was there for another Board planning session. (Different Board) Monday night we ate at the Snake Creek Grill in Heber, Monday morning planning session until 1:00 then golf at Wasatch Mountain. I love that course. Only real problem was the number of balls I lost. Too many to admit to....

Monday night we had dinner at the Blue Boar restaurant. Very swanky..

Then more planning Tuesday morning. After meetings, we hit the outlets and returned home in time for Annette to go singing, Tyler to go to scouts and me to move the parts car in preparation for new cement.

So, now that we're back, it time to get ready to go some more! Mmmmm..... Portugal....... ;)
