My oldest brother, Dallen, got me interested in classic cars a long time ago.
His 1970 Chevelle 396 stands out as a favorite of mine.
In 1977, after returning from a mission in
I purchased a 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible for $550.
I took Annette out on our first date in it. I drove it a lot.
Over the years, I replaced the engine a couple of different times.
The last time with an Olds 403, replacing the 330 that it came with.
About 15 years ago, I rebuilt the 403 and the transmission
and drove the car for a few more miles.
About 10 years ago, I parked it in the garage because it was deteriorating fast.
Finally, a couple of years ago, Annette agreed to let me rebuild it from the ground up…
and the party began.
After two years, it’s finally beginning to come back together.
