We spent the last weekend in a condo in Park City with Jeremy and his family and BJ and his family. (Chris and Jena were fishing with her family, so they weren’t able to come with us) We had a great time – shopping, swimming, sleeping….
Saturday evening we rode up the Canyons tram to the Grand Summit lodge amphitheatre where they were having one of their free summer concerts. (Free is always good)
They were just getting things set up and I asked one of the security guards who was playing. He thought for a minute and said “I don’t know, but you’ve never heard of them”. He was right. I had never heard of “Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit”. And I’m afraid I’ll have to say I won’t be deeply troubled if I never hear of them again. Not that they were bad, but it just wasn’t my genre. Southern Rock is what they claim to play. I would have expected something more like Lynnard Skynnard….but Noooooo. They didn’t even play any good cover songs.
Sunday we walked down Main Street where they were holding their weekly Park Silly Sunday Flea Market with booths, street musicians and a Farmer’s Market. There were four mini stages set up with musicians. One group we named “Some guy and his Box of Rocks”…(Inside joke)What a great weekend with family..
