Well, after about 14 hours on the road, with three vehicles, 6 adults and 6 kids, we made it to Sunriver, Oregon for a week in a little dirt floor cabin in the mountains.
(We left home at 3:30 am, hoping the kids would sleep for part of the trip.)
We had a nice trip, albeit long, without any problems or major issues. Luckily the vehicles are all equipped with DVD players, games FOOD and everything else necessary for long trips.
We stopped for lunch in Burns and had a picnic at the local park. The kids were happy to get out and run for a few minutes before continuing the journey.
Once we got here, we headed into Bend to do a little shopping so we could stock the ice box and be ready for the week ahead. We also picked up a stack of Pizza's to take care of the huger prevailing in the cabin.. ;)
Everyone got a good nights sleep and this morning we were treated to deer right outside the window, munching on the berries that grow just off the deck.
Oh, and before anyone gets too concerned about the "little dirt floor cabin" thing, here's a picture of the front. Not quite what you might have expected. My sister Kathy has a cabin in this same resort area and they always refer to theirs that way.
