1955-2008
Stan Page, PhD, 53, beloved son, brother, husband, daddy, and grandpa, slipped peacefully away on June 30, after a day surrounded by loving family.
Born
Married Gaye Lee Winkel in 1984 and together raised four fine children. Active member LDS church. Currently Asst. Stake Exec. Secretary, a calling he loved.
Professionally, Stan was proud of the years spent as a Designer for WordPerfect, currently on the FamilySearch website design team. Pinhole camera enthusiast and expert. Cherished the years he spent as Cubmaster and scout leader. Home teaching was a privilege.
His sons have designed a web page in his honor. Please visit: www.endlesspages.com
Once there was a way To get back Home
Sleep pretty darling, do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby
Golden Slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling, do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby....
I had the privilege of singing an old Beatles tune at my cousins funeral on Thursday. Stan Page passed away after a brief battle with a brain tumor. We visited him on the Wednesday prior to his passing and sang a couple of songs to him, including "Golden Slumbers" by the Beatles and "Almost Cut my Hair" by CSN&Y.
On his display table at the viewing were a number of items including his Gretsch guitar. I remember when he first got it and became the lead guitarist for "Violent Dawn" a band made up of three cousins - Stan Page (Lead Guitar), Gordon Flanders (Drums), and myself (Vocals and Keyboards) as well as two close friends - Kerry Fowler (Guitar) and Dick Goudy (Bass). Another cousin, Eldon Randall played drums for us for a while until he moved to Idaho.
This classic poster was drawn by Stan and was also on display.

Dick Goudy visited at the cemetary and I got this photo with Gordon. First time I have seen Dick in nearly 30 years. I felt bad I didn't get to see Kerry, though I'm told he did get down to see Stan prior to his passing.

I took a number of pictures of family at the viewing for my family to enjoy. I have tried to decide whether to name those in the pictures. I'm embarrased to say I can't remember some names, or am unsure of relationships, and who knows on spellings, but I'll give it a go. Hopefully, someone will comment and make the appropriate corrections.......

How did I do?
